OCTOBER 2025 UPDATE

Thank you Calvary Assembly of God for your prayers and generous and faithful support. JCCY’s media reach expanded on Hawaii’s #1 most listened to station, KSSK, on Saturdays with The Good Life reaching its largest secular audience statewide. Daily radio/podcasts continue on Salem and across the US and the world through online platforms. Missions work deepens with meaningful relationships in Cambridge, Massachusetts on the MIT and Harvard campuses, where many world leaders emerge, with Danny serving as a chaplain at MIT and guest lecturer at Harvard. Jamie’s tennis outreach to educators and business leaders in Boston grows. Mentorship ministries with MIT/Harvard faculty, students, and staff is developing. Meals are hosted including those at the Yamashiro home. Danny’s YA novel, Anela’s Club, is being translated into Korean, Anela’s Club the screenplay has been evaluated by industry professionals favorably, 7 new academic articles are available online, and a non-fiction book manuscript is near completion. JCCY’s 28th annual “Call to Hope” golf tournament outreach saw a record turnout of 216 golfers on 27 holes. All ministries are aimed to point people to Jesus Christ with the gospel shared in word and deed according to 1 Corinthians 9:19-22.

OCTOBER 2024 UPDATE:

Thank you Pastors Terry and Vicky and the Calvary Assembly of God Ohana, for your generous support and prayers! This year, Danny's young adult novel, Anela's Club, was published by Koehler Books and has reached people in all 50 states, Japan, Canada, and as far as Namibia. All public middle and high school libraries in Hawaii have Anela as does the Hawaii State Public Library System. Endorsements have been received from leaders at Harvard, MIT, Duke, Syracuse, UH, Nottingham, bestselling authors, and those who write for Cambridge University Press and Oxford University Press. Anela's Club received recognition from American Fiction Awards as Finalist, Best New Fiction and Finalist, Young Adult Fiction. Danny's mentorship ministry through JCCY's Formation Institute continues as the Cambridge Roundtable Faculty Chaplain at MIT. He also serves as a guest lecturer at Harvard. Jamie and Danny's hospitality outreach to university students is in a new season to deepen relationships with future world leaders. JCCY's radio/podcasts, The Good Life and A Slice of the Good Life, air daily and reach people globally. Plans for JCCY's Paradise Global Mission Dominican Republic and Paradise Global Mission Japan are underway.

Prayer requests:

1) A deeper walk with God for Danny and Jamie, their family, and the JCCY team; dependence on the Holy Spirit, Christ-centered focus, and fruitfulness (John 15:5).

2) Open doors for Anela's Club in schools, book clubs, families, and those who suffer from trauma (2 Corinthians 9:6; Ephesians 3:20).

OCTOBER 2023 UPDATE:

Thank you to Pastors Terry and Vicky Wong, leaders, and all the members of the Calvary Assembly of God Ohana for your faithful and sacrificial partnership. Congratulations on the 20th anniversary of Missions Conferences! This year JCCY's Paradise Global Mission sent a team to the Dominican Republic for dentistry and construction work at Del Corazon de Jesucristo in El Catey.

The Good Life with Dr. Danny, a new radio podcast in Boston, produced and aired 120 features of "Jesus stories" in 8 months reaching listeners in 49 states and 35 nations. Danny continues to host The Good Life Hawaii that airs daily and A Slice of The Good Life that airs nationally. JCCY's ministry to faculty, postdocs, and graduate students continues to grow through Danny's chaplaincy at MIT and as co-chair of the Cambridge Roundtable on Science and Religion held each semester at the Harvard Faculty Club.

Jamie's tennis outreach ministry to leaders in Boston is also expanding. She was voted to be a co-captain of her tennis club team, opening doors for deeper and richer opportunities to share the light of Christ. Danny's debut novel, Anela's Club, is scheduled to be released in 2024 by Kohler Publishers, Virginia, with plans for distribution at schools across America. A screenplay of Anela's Club is also complete.
